in absolute poverty

Husserl wants us to regard the world as given to us in perception and intuition. By this he means: perceive and intuit what is given to me–what I experience–”in absolute poverty, with an absolute lack of knowledge.” I take this to mean: experience the phenomenon without applying to it a theory, a rule, what your mother told you it meant or implied, what positivist science says about it.

Is this a theory of sorts?
